Four principal officials visited seniors, grassroots families and civil service retirees' families in various districts today, giving out gift packs to share the joy of the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

Secretary for the Environment KS Wong paid visits to an elderly person and two grassroots families at Ka Fuk Estate in Fanling to learn about their daily lives and needs. Mr Wong said the Government hopes to express community care and concern to those in need by visiting less-privileged families in the district and distributing gifts to them.

Secretary for Innovation & Technology Alfred Sit visited seniors living alone and doubleton elderly households at Pik Shan House to distribute gift packs and to extend his warm regards.

Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip was at Tsui Ping Estate in Kwun Tong to call on doubleton elderly households and families of civil service retirees in Tsui Ping Estate in Kwun Tong.

Secretary for Financial Services & the Treasury Christopher Hui met seniors and a low-income family at Sha Kok Estate and Pok Hong Estate in Sha Tin, then stopped by Sheung Tak Estate in Tseung Kwan O to visit a senior citizen and ethnic minority families.

Principal officials expressed their heartfelt thanks to the organisations, groups and volunteers for pledging support for the Celebrations for All project.

The home visits under the Celebrations for All project is one of the major events to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. With funding from the Jockey Club Charities Trust, the project has been implemented by the district offices together with non-governmental organisations and community bodies in the districts to spread the joy of the anniversary to the underprivileged.
