SENIOR MPF OFFICIAL NAMED

The Chief Executive has appointed Cheng Yan-chee as Managing Director and Executive Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority for three years from today.

Mr Cheng has been the authority's Chief Corporate Affairs Officer since 2013 and Acting Managing Director since June last year.

Announcing the appointment, Financial Secretary Paul Chan expressed confidence in Mr Cheng's leadership of the authority.

"He possesses extensive experience and is committed to leading the authority in taking forward the eMPF Platform Project and various reform measures of the Mandatory Provident Fund System, as well as driving organisational transformation to enhance operational efficiency."

A selection panel chaired by the Financial Secretary made the recommendation on the appointment.
