The Cinemas Subsidy Scheme and the Pyrotechnics & Special Effects Operators Subsidy Scheme under the sixth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund will accept applications from tomorrow, the Government announced.
The subsidy scheme for cinemas, with applications closing on March 3, will provide a one-off subsidy of $100,000 per screen to each existing cinema licensed as a place of public entertainment with commercial operation in December last year.
The maximum subsidy for a cinema circuit is $3 million.
For the Pyrotechnics & Special Effects Operators Subsidy Scheme, its application period will end on March 11.
A $10,000 one-off subsidy will be offered to each eligible special effects operator (SEO) and special effects assistant (SEA) holding at least one valid licence between February 1 last year and January 31 this year issued under the Entertainment Special Effects Ordinance and its subsidiary legislation, and who have not benefitted from any other sector-specific subsidy schemes under the fund since January.
Same practitioners holding different types of SEO or SEA licences are only eligible to receive a maximum subsidy amount of $10,000.
Application details of the schemes are available on the Create Hong Kong website.
