Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Kevin Yeung said monthly pyrotechnic and drone shows held against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour, as proposed in the 2024-25 Budget, will enrich tourists’ travel experience in Hong Kong.
Mr Yeung made the remarks at a press conference today to elaborate on Budget initiatives under the Culture, Sports & Tourism Bureau, adding that the shows are part and parcel of the whole tourist experience.
“It will be combined with other tourist attractions - like other major activities - so that when tourists come to Hong Kong, they (will) have more activities to participate (in) and can have a fuller experience of Hong Kong.
“So in the long run, I am sure that it will (entice) more tourists to come to Hong Kong (and) promote Hong Kong as a favourite tourist spot all over the world, and that will, of course, in the long term, bring economic benefits to Hong Kong,” he said.
