Chief Executive John Lee today said he has taken the opportunity during his visit to Thailand to tell the good stories of Hong Kong, including highlighting the city's advantages and opportunities.

Mr Lee made the remarks at a media session where he is attending the 29th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Bangkok.

He explained that during the summit, he told world leaders about the numerous assets the city has to offer.

He said: “I also explained that Hong Kong is a place where the China advantage and international advantage converge in a single city.

“I have also told them of the advantage we have under the 'one country, two systems' principle. These are the advantages they recognised.”

Moreover, Mr Lee said he stressed to global leaders that innovation and technology (I&T) and culture are other areas with great potential for collaboration.

“There are different areas of co-operation that we can promote, such as Hong Kong being made an I&T hub and also an arts and cultural exchange centre.

“I particularly introduced them to the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the M+ museum, which showcase Hong Kong’s infrastructure and determination to be connected to the world and contribute in this regard.”
