Serving members Joanne Cheung, Maureen Fung, Enoch Lam, Stephanie Poon, Bonnie Woo, the Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) and the Commissioner for Tourism have been reappointed.

Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development Edward Yau said: "Being the incumbent Deputy Chairman who joined the Board in 2019, Mr Pong has actively participated in charting the future strategy of Ocean Park and other important development projects of the Ocean Park Corporation.

“With his rich commercial experience, in-depth understanding of the future strategy and strong devotion, he is an eminently suitable candidate to assume the chairmanship of the Board.”

Mr Yau expressed gratitude to the outgoing Chairman Lau Ming-wai for his strong commitment and astute leadership in steering the Ocean Park Corporation Board, noting that Mr Lau has served on the board in different capacities for a total of 14 years.

With his profound knowledge of the park and passion in driving its development, Mr Lau has been leading the park to embrace many challenges and supporting the formulation of its future strategy, making important contributions to charting a new path for the Park, he added.

The commerce chief also thanked the retired or outgoing members, namely Michelle Cheng, Loretta Fong, Ann Kung and Vincent Ng, for their support and contributions to the board.

He said the Government will continue to work with the corporation to proactively implement the future strategy for Ocean Park to transform it into a resort and leisure destination with a focus on conservation and education, grounded in nature and complemented by adventure and leisure elements.
