The Government today announced that cash subsidies involving $264 million were disbursed today to over 99% of the eligible companies and people covered by the seventh round of the subsidy scheme for the tourism industry under the Anti-epidemic Fund.
The subsidies were disbursed to some 1,530 travel agents, around 17,570 travel agents' staff and freelance accredited tourist guides and tour escorts, about 3,310 drivers of tour service coaches mainly serving tourists, and hotels which have submitted applications and have had their eligibility confirmed after vetting.
Eligible travel agents and their staff who have never applied for a subsidy or did not apply in the last round should submit an application with documentary proof to the Travel Agents Registry by March 17. Application guidelines and forms can be found online.
Eligible hotels are required to submit applications to the Home Affairs Department's Office of the Licensing Authority by March 17.
