The Government today said Under Secretary for Innovation & Technology David Chung has tested preliminary positive for COVID-19.

As two drivers in the Innovation & Technology Bureau have preliminarily tested positive for the virus, staff in its Principal Official's Office underwent swab sampling for COVID-19 testing yesterday. One preliminary positive case was identified.

Mr Chung works at 20/F, West Wing of the Central Government Offices and last went to work on February 18. He has no recent travel history.

He also wore face masks and followed disease prevention measures at work.

The bureau has conducted thorough cleaning and disinfection at relevant offices and arranged for staff members to undergo virus tests.

Secretary for Innovation & Technology Alfred Sit has obtained negative results from both the rapid test and nucleic acid test, the bureau reported.

After consulting the Department of Health, Mr Sit will work from home for seven days until February 26, counting from the last day he had contact with the positive case.
